Peeing everytime he's excited or see's another dog????

Hello everyone..

My baby boy Koda is 4 months old. We just graduated puppy class, he did so well I have to say. appicon Anyway, here is the problem. It only seems to have started within the last month or so but everytime we go somewhere and he's excited or even not excited he pee's on the ground (inside), everytime we see another dog, he pees. :o I don't understand it. The other day we were in Petsmart for our graduation class, and oh my gosh, I cleaned up after him at least 10 times (i'm not exagerating either). :rolleyes: Several times while they were playing during socialization, then when we were walking around the store and another dog would approach him. We can go over to someone's house and he does it as soon as we walk through the door, and he could have just pee'd outside. :eek:

Will he grow out of this? When we got our Dalmatian he was already a couple of years old and he never did this. Is it an excitment thing, nervous thing, bladder issues? The trainer said he'd grow out of it but I wanted to check on here, and about when will he grow out of it.

He will out grow this & it will vary in age when he stops,this is more common than you think.Talk to your vet. about this because it could be a problem with his bladder or a UTI infection since he just started this.LOL, Hanley

Our male did the same thing around that age. He's about 10 months now and if he gets really excited, he dribbles a little. But he is outgrowing it, just be patient.

OMG...Joe is is just under 2 years old and he still does that! It drives me insane. The way we handle it at home is we have everybody just ignore him for about the first 10 minutes they come into the house. There is no eye contact or talking allowed. Then he is okay. The problem is when we take him out...for instance to the vets. He just pees everywhere. I can't begin to tell you how many shoes he has blessed! Oh, it's a good thing he is so handsome!

Well glad to see we aren't the only ones....Boy I can't imagen dealing with this when he is two. Hopefully he'll grow out of it. I'll have to try the ignoring trick and see if that works. But my parents have dogs and man as soon as we walk in the door it's pee all over the place....

But I will talk to his vet also just to make sure everything is okay. We are going to try and get to Petsmart this afternoon and do the whole picture thing with Santa. so hopefully Santa doesn't get blessed...

ROFL - I imagine Santa hopes so too.

It's pretty normal for a puppy though, so Santa shouldn't be too surprised by it all. You could do a search on 'submissive peeing' for more info and tips on how to help him outgrow it.
