too much experience with this subject :(
I don't know what you are feeding Papi on a regular basis, but my boxer kept getting pancreatitus on and off for years until I realized that he was allergic to I/D (hills version of a bland diet). Anyway Tonka kept vomiting, so he kept getting pancreatitus until I tried to change his food to IVD venison and potato diet for dogs with food allergies. Since the switch Tonka never gets ear infections and unless he gets one of the other dogs food or treats usually doesn't vomit anymore! Usually they say stick away from anything high in fat, table food or fatty treats, but pancreatitus can also be caused by stress. I don't know how much your vet marks up the food, but the cost of the prescription food is not marked up much at my vet and usually it is the best food to feed them when they are sick. Unfortunately, because of my dogs allergies I always keep him on his IVD even when he has pancreatitus, but the IVD is a low fat food regardless. You could also try boiled chicken and rice combo if you don't want to buy the food from the vet. Good luck and I hope your baby feels better!
