We think Bailey got it from there once too!! Chances are it was from there although it could have been from her classes! You just have to ride it out! They can honestly pick it up from anywhere but chances are better at the parks!!
Sorry to hear he isn't feeling well!!
Honey is a real cough soother!!

I have been unable to come out to the park with my baby , Caesar, for various reasons.I was worried because he isn't neutered, and might bother some female dogs. But now I am totally fearing this kennel cough. Is there a high chance of this being caught at a park? We have never been to a dog park, and now I am concerned. Why would people bring there dogs to a park if they had a illness? What ever happened to common courtesy?

from what I know, kennel cough can be caught anywhere, even a regular park! But I guess the chances of getting it are better at a dog park! It's like a human cold. You may not know your dog has it right away! There is a vaccination you can get for it though! You have to get it if you ever board your dogs!
I work in warrington, and I would love to get together sometime to let the poochies play if you want, I am always up for a playdate!

I am happy to report that Loki is feeling much better. We bypassed the vet, (I was kinda ticked off cuz he was just vacc'd for this,) and went holistic. Vitamin C, echinacea/goldenseal drops, drosera, and lots of honey, yum.
Kennel cough is something I think most dogs get sooner or later, but at a dog park it is play at your own risk. Some owners may not even realize their pup is sick and if it weren't for Loki's constant hacking cough I couldn't tell. His behavior and activity level were pretty normal.
I'm happy that he is getting over this w/o antibiotics and stuff. It makes me more confident of his immune response for next time the bug is around him.
We should be back at the park th wknd of the 10th. I want to make sure he is all better so we will skip this week and keep resting up.lovicon

I will probably be there on the wekend of the 18th. Now that my move is almost complete I will be a regular at the park again. Otto and I can not wait to get back to going to the park.

Hey Jennifer, I would have loved to go, but did not get the message until Monday Morning!! Sorry! I am sure it was alot of fun! And I knew where it was!! Oh well, may be next time!

I am sorry none of you managed to attend :( We had a blast and all the boxers had a great time. :D

While I didn't enter Cookie in the match she did go in costume and won an "honerable mention" I took some pics but not nearly enough when there are so many prety boxers around just begging for attention. :) We held a raffle for the rescue and managed to raise a good bit of $ for them. We had a good food spread and we actually managed to have a little bit of leftovers, a very little bit!

Our club holds a match & picnic every Sept. or Oct. and I will make sure that I post several weeks in advance next year so that all of you have time to plan ahead. :D

Oh and bring a few $. The rescue has goodies to sell useally as well as a silent auction & raffle. ;)

I will post the pics ASAP, they need to be developep. My digital software is AWOL do to a reformat on the 1 pc so it's back to the old fashioned way.

Hey Jennifer, glad you had a good time! Can't wait to look at the pics!
The club you are in, is it a boxer club?? Do the boxers have to be AKC certified and stuff?? Or is it just for boxer lover?? I would be interested in learning about it!! Let me know!
