We lost our beloved Emma to a brain tumor this morning. She being having seizures Tuesday night, continued to seize through some very strong medication and before they could schedule her for an MRI, developed pneumonia. Emma's little body fought so hard but as with everything else, she could fight just so long. She was only five but gave us everything a boxer could in that short time. We will greatly miss her wagging nubbin, kidney beaning and the cutest little rear end a girl could have. Her big brother Max sure misses her - he told us that our job is to find him a new best buddy - we just we cannot live without two of these rambunctious, full of life bundles.
As this is the second boxer we have lost to a brain tumor, we are going to search for a breeder that does health testing and researches the parents' genetics. At the same time we realize there are no guarantees, but we want to try. Our hearts just hurt too much when we lose one of our babies.
