Last night our girl had a Seizure. So frightning. We looked it up in a Dog Health book and the book said that if your dog has one Seizure that you should contact the Vet and let them know about the episode and that if your dog has another one to take them in to the vet. Has anyone experienced this before and if so did you take your boxer to the vet right away?
We truely believe that she might have gotten into some coffee on Thurs. She was sick to her stomach for 2 days and has not been sick since Fri. Then last night she had that Seizure. The Health book also said that caffinee could cause Seizures.
What would you do? Any advise?

Personally,if it was a grand mal seizure I would let the vet have look. They will probably draw blood to make sure all systems are functioning properly. You need to start a log noting timing of seizure, last food taken, type of seizure etc. If there is another seizure any and all info you can give them will help in diagnosing. I had an epileptic Boxer who was diagnosed as such by eliminating everything else........Hope your girl has no more events.

GranMal is full convulsions-sometimes resembling running in the prone position, loss of body functions sometimes;petit mal can be exhibited by blank stares,"bubble gum" chewing behaviour-both of these the dog doesn't recognise your voice.
Head Tremors resembles palsy and usually lasts a few seconds and you can touch the dog and it will resume normalcy.
Heart seizure,I believe involve falling out/passing out

She was giving blank stares and did not respond to us at all. She was shaking, but not like running and her jaw was going up and down. What do you think should I call the vet? I am so scared for her.

No, she has not had any shots lately. Ok, I will call. Thanks so much! We are at a loss because this is the 1st time this has happened.
