Our First Woo Woo

Okay you guys, after having Lexi for more than a year, and never having had a Woo Woo, I'd really given up. I've read alot of the threads on the Woo Woo and the Woo Woo song here, and I've laughed at some of the descriptions (like the wookie). They were really cute stories.

As many times as I've tried getting Lexi to "Woo Woo" for or at me, or anyone else for that matter, she always looked at me like I was CRAZY!! I was sure that my boxer was the only one ALIVE who absolutely refused to Woo Woo. Not that she couldn't...but that she just was not going to do it.

Last night, I was sitting on the couch watching television. I don't get to do this very often, because I'm usually interacting with the kids - be they skin or fur. I was really into the show last night and Lexi wanted attention. She sat right in front of me and batted at my hands with her paws as if to say, "HEY!!! GIMME ATTENTION, MOM!!"

I'd pat her and give her kisses and go back to the show. Eventually, I pretty much started ignoring her, as she was starting to bother me. hehe

All of a sudden, Lexi began vocalizing and suddenly, there were these loud WOO WOO sounds. I just stared at her in amazement. Then when I realized exactly what in the heck she was doing, I got really excited and started vocalizing back to her.

WELL.....Lexi went absolutely WILD!!

She started doing the boxer burn up and down the stairs, around the living room and dining room and stopped in front of me again to have another dialogue. It was hysterical!!

She woo woo'd for about 5 minutes and I woo woo'd right back. I hope this wasn't a one time thing. I just loved it.!!

Not fair!!! Apollo's been with us for over 2 years and there is still no WooWoo. Unless I've missed it!! Hopefully he's just a late bloomer too!!

I LOVE woo-woos!! Joe has begun woo-wooing every day now. It's so funny. He woo-woos a lot when he wants attention. He will also woo-woo if you just stare at him! It is the funniest sound, and I never get tired of hearing it! He really didn't woo-woo too much before, but now it's and every day treat. So to those of you out there whose dog doesn't woo-woo, don't give up hope!:D

We had one boxer before Rocky and he never Woo'ed, we got him when he was 4 and he lived to 8, owners before said he never did it, we never heard it. Rocky had slightly woo'ed once but he scared him self and ended up yelping and running from himself. Was cute as heck but I would love to hear him do it as I have never heard a boxer do it before. My husbands father has a yellow lab who does it. She will sit there and "talk" to you when you ask her to. Too cute.

I love it when Scrapper does the "woo-woo" noise! He looks right at you and practically makes his lips into a circle, puffs out his checks and yodels away. He usually does it when we come home and he's beaning around showing how happy he is to see us again.

No personal woo woo's from Cassius yet either, however we did have a party at my parents place this summer and they had some Bagpipers playing and Cassius ran right into the midlle of the players and started to sing along with the pipers while they were playing :D ..he became the centre of attention at the party after that . I suppose that could have been a sing-along-Woo

Miss the Woo-Woo

Magic just turned 3 years old, and i have yet to her her Woo-Woo, I am pretty bummed out by it! I have tried everything to get her to Woo at me, but no good! If anyone has some suggestions on how to get them to Woo I would love to know.

Congrats on Lexie's Woo-Woo, sounds like you enjoyed it more than she did, and i can picture her running like a mad-mad around the house.
