I was at Petsmart the other day and a couple came in with an English Mastiff about 200# and a French Bulldog about 20# at best.
I had my Boxer at the vet last month and someone was there with a Maltese. Our dogs wanted to play together so we let them get close. The Maltese got up on her hind feet and started to paw at my girls face and my Boxer had no idea what to do with her because she was so tiny. She did recognize that she was tiny and fragile and did not try to touch her.

I'm glad someone brought up Bostons! 
I have a Boston and a Boxer. I think my situation is a bit different, since they are both still puppies (male Boston 5 months, female Boxer 8 weeks). They get along great though! They run each other ragged, and they play very rough and tumble. We break it up if Harvard gets too intense for little Ellie, but as soon as we calm him down, she barrels into him and starts it up all over again!
We're also introducing Ellie to the English Bulldogs and shi tzu down the street. We want her exposed to different sized dogs while she's still little.

I have a lab (Dollie: 1.5 years old) and a boxer (Candy: 9 months) and they have been around together ever since I got Candy (@eight weeks). They have been perfect together for all this time and they do barrel into each other. They cuddle up and sleep together. They are the sweetest two dogs I have seen...
