are we meeting this sunday? i sure hope so cassius had lots of fun last time and is ready to romp again! let me know!

ps. do many people go to that dog park during the winter? i felt bad i got cassius all pummped to go to Gabriel Park a couple of weeks ago when the weather was really nice and it was closed. poor kid felt jipped. hard to explain to a dog that we can't go in there because the gate is locked!

It's still planned

Probably all depends on this crazy weather we're having. Snow, rain, hail AND sun just today!!

I took Bailey to Gabriel Park last weekend when it was sunny and also discovered the fenced area was closed. :( Another owner showed me an area in the park where they take their dogs to play off-leash. But it's not fenced.


If it's not snowing on Sunday, I'll probably be there.

Hello from Seattle!

Hi Linda! Will you post directions or a link to the park? Eventually we'll organize and post one for Seattle, but meanwhile I though it might be nice to take a drive to Portland. How far south of Portland is North Clackamas?

Further up in this thread are some general directions. You'll want to get on I-205 south.

North Clackamas Park is in Milwaukie, which is not too far south of Portland. (I'm bad at estimating distances. :( I'd guess not more than about 10 miles south.)

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on April 14. But if the weather is good, there are sure to be other boxers there.
If you're planning on coming down a different weekend, let me know. I'm close to the park and would love to meet you and Diego.

I'm working now, but I'll see if I can get an internet map for you and post it later.

I'd like to go when you'll be there, so next time (and I'll PM or email ya if we decide to take a little road trip).

One more question - I think I remembered reading about a pet friendly lodging recommendation. Do you? If not, no biggie. I have some sites to find that information, but wanted to ask anyway...

This hotel is relatively close to the park, right off the freeway (easy to find), and pet-friendly. I checked last summer and was told, "we love dogs."
I can't honestly "recommend" it, because I've never seen the rooms, but it seems okay from the outside.

Hi. I've gotten completely lost in all these replys, but am I correct in that there's a play day on Apr 14th? Victoria and I would love to come, semi-decent weather permitting. Also, is there something like a calendar of events on BW that I might be able to find these bashes? Thanks! Jon.

Yes, April 14th is correct (although I'm not sure we're going this weekend). As far as I know, the Boxer Bash & Events forum is the only place to search. There's a calendar, but I think it's just birthdays? - Lisa

I had the Dog Nose News publish in their calendar of events a boxer play day the second Sunday of every month; noon at North Clackamas Park.

Yes, the second Sunday of April is the 14th.
I won't be able to make it this time, but I'm sure there will be some other boxers and their people there, depending on the weather.
