I'm not sure if anyone else has been through this, so I'm posting this. Today was a scary day at my house. We were outside and my 6 year old puppy, Ginger, took a running spell (you know those quick bursts of speed all over the yard). She ran under a pine tree, then we heard a yelp and the baby came out with a stick from the tree in her eye. I just ran to her while my brother call the emergency vet number. Luckily, the vet was able to remove the stick (about 1/2 inch in diameter ). He said that the stick actually went under the eye itself about one inch, with no damage to her vision but the eye is very swollen and red. We are really worried about infection right now because that could still damage her vision. The vet put her on antibiotics both oral and a cream for her eye, but I'm just worried. Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen? I just love our vet and he is very positive right now so please just keep Ginger in your thoughts.
