One less in our home

Today I did the hardest thing ever, and that was to help my best friend Delstar(German shep mix) cross over...We all knew it was coming, but this morning was the final straw. He knew it was time and he went peacefully, but not before giving me one last kiss just before leaving us.

Delstar was with our family only 3 years, but it felt like a lifetime for all of us...Especially myself...Delstar was and always will be very special to me...He was the neighbors dog next door..never treated right, always abused!! Growing up I took care of him when he had no food outside, or his owner was not home for days, or beat him for no reason, it was my mother & I who rescued him!!

I thank God for allowing me to care for him and making the final years good for him!! Delstar was 13 years old, looked lik eit with his greying face, but never acted like it until we came back from vacation on Saturday!!!

I know what I did tonight was the right thing, but gosh it feels like the worse thing ever~~~~~I will cry and miss him dearly but I know that he is waiting for me on the other side with pain no more!!

We love you Delstar!!!

Oh Mandy,
I am so sorry for your loss. I never really know what to say, it seems that no words can express what I need to say at these times.
I know you gave him the very best life and he loved you for it.

I am very sorry to hear about Delstar:( Because of you, he was able to experiance the love he deserved. He was such a cutie-pie (I looked in your gallery.) He looks a lot like my dog Mandy I helped to the bridge a few years ago :(
