As much as I would have loved to keep Storm, realistically, I could not manage at this time with 3. :(

Well, Storms original owner took sick...very sick. Unfortunately Storm was an impulse decision for her...saw the cute face...had to have it! She was aware of her health problems at the time but thought Storm would be the medicine she needed. After she brought Storm home, within 1 week, she was in the hospital and it looks like she will be there for some time. When she was hospitalized, I offered to look after Storm and get him started with his crate and potty training. It was either that or he was going to the shelter. After the doctor gave her a diagnosis and prognosis for long term treatment, it became clear to her that she would not be able to give Storm the stable home that he needs. So then I was holding him until a suitable home was found. That's where the new owners come in. They picked him up Friday afternoon. I liked them and got a very good vibe from them. They're boxer foolicon like we are!! They had 2 boxers in the past before their 1st child came along. Both boxers have crossed the bridge as a result of old age (one was 11, the other 14!!). Now that they have a child, they want him to grow up with a boxer. :) I was given the first shot at keeping him. My friend even added that I could take as long as I like to pay her for him and was throwing in over $600 in accessories for him...food, dishes, crate, leash, collar, toys, bed, coat, etc.!
I was very torn at first and struggled mentally with the option of keeping Storm. I was prepared to make some major changes in our lifestyle to accomodate him. In the end, common sense won and I had to let him go to a place where I knew he would get the attention that he needs. We miss him, but we're happy and excited for him. And...we would do it again! :)
