Not treating cancer?

Fluffy continues to hang in there. She is still eating and still gets excited for walks. Her tumor is still growing and her bum bleeds alot but she doesn't seem bothered by it. Now for the bad news...yesterday I noticed our old boy, Trucker, limping which isn't that unusual since he was hit by a car years ago before we rescued him and so he sometimes gets aches and pains however when he was still limping at the end of the day I got a little concerned. So last night when I was tucking him in I started rubbing his leg and found that the lymph node in the back of his leg is VERY enlarged (its feels like a small apricot). Obviously this cannot be anything good. I cannot help but think about lymphoma since that's so common in boxers. I don't want to jump to conclusions but with his age and we have noticed that he has aged a lot and lost some weight over the last months there are many red flags. It would be devastating to go through this with two dogs at once. And we have an extra special bond with Trucker. He was such a mess when he came to us and also has been a huge challenge in regards to behavioral/ training. He started my work in rescue and has taught me so much.

I'm so sorry you guys are going through all this at once... poor pups... just remember that you guys did so much for them and thanks to you the last few years they have known love and happiness. It's all we can do for them, y'know?

Oh no! I hate feeling blind sided. I am going to think positive thoughts for Trucker amd hope it is just an infection of some kind swelling up that lymph node.

I am glad to hear Fluffy is doing well in spite of her tumor. Calming (((vibes))) to you, and positive, healthy ones to Trucker and Fluffy.

Thanks everyone. Trucker has a vet appt tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will get some answers. This has been my worst dog week ever. Nano tore one of her toe nails off and it got infected so she has been on antibiotics for almost two weeks. The meds upset her stomach and she has thrown up on my brand-new rug four times this week (why can’t they just puke on the hard floors? I have one rug in my entire house and that is the only place she chooses to puke...its like she is mocking me and my attempts at having a nice home). Then she went outside this morning and came back in covered in hives. Something must have bit her. So that is three out of four dogs having issues. I’m just waiting to see what Rosco comes up with.

Took Trucker to see the vet today and it’s not his lymph node. It’s a mass of some sort. We tried to do a needle aspirate and all she got was fluid. She basically told me not to waste 200.00 sending the sample to the lab because her guess was that it would come back inconclusive. She thinks there is a tumor in there surrounded by fluid. She seemed a little stumped as to what it could be. She mentioned spindle cell tumor, possible bone cancer (but it doesn’t feel like it’s attached to the bone) and we are giving benadryl just in case it’s a MCT. She did say it could be a benign cyst or fatty tumor but then she followed that by saying the fact that he is a boxer makes her highly doubt that it’s benign. We are doing surgery tomorrow morning to remove it and have it sent to pathology. If it’s a spindle cell tumor (a tumor that has arms & legs) she is concerned she won’t get clear margins because of the size of the tumor she would have to take a lot of his leg.

I wonder what it is? All the tumors I have see have been hanging off the dog on the outside. But this tumor is inside. It’s not like anything I have ever seen. You really can’t SEE it but as soon as you feel his hamstring you can FEEL it. It’s big like an egg. Anyone ever dealt with something similar or have ideas?
