Deb, I live in Ohio too, go to Hocking Hills in Logan. We go there often and go hiking all the time. They have beautiful waterfalls and rocks and such and have Tons of cabins in the area that I am sure that you will be able to find one to stay in. We only live about 1 1/2 hours away so we dont stay often but we have never had any problems there. And my boys love the trails. They even climb up big tall rocks which really surprised me. :o There are tons of trail too. You will find any kind of information that you may need on the web. I cant tell you enough good stuff about Hocking Hills. If you have never been you will LOVE it!

Well, in my So. Cal beach city, we finally got the city council's blessing to allow leashed dogs in three of our parks. They aren't allowed on the beach, nor are they allowed in the parks that aren't designated. Before that, dogs weren't allowed in any parks and you could get a hefty citation if caught. In addition, we finally got our own dog park. So we are making small steps. Our San Clemente Dog Lovers group petitioned the city to relax the laws and citing the success of the three parks that allow dogs, wanted dogs allowed in all parks. You wouldn't believe the the uproar that caused among the anti-dog people. "Oh, you can't have dogs and kids in the parks!" Who said? What a joke that was. We are just happy they left our three parks that allow dogs alone.
