Boxer Pal
Hello,

My name is Sherri, my husband Brett and I own 2 Boxers and an English Bully...

Our oldest Boxer "Do-San" is a M/N brindle, we call him Doey for short, he is 13 years old, Doey was diagnosed with a cardiac tumor in April 2010, he also has cancer in his lungs, he is very comfortable and you would never know he has cancer, saying goodbye is going to be very difficult on me since I have been his mommy since he was 8 weeks old.

Our younger boxer "Java-Chino" is a 1 1/2 yr old male reverse bridle, Java was discovered to have "Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia" at 5 months old during an pre-neuter echocardiogram for what was thought to be an innocent mummer. I had him seen at Angell Animal Care Center, Boston within 2 days of being diagnosed. Java's heart is very bad and it is a MIRACLE he is still alive, he went into full heart failure in Oct 09 at 10 months old, he spent 4 days in cardiac care unit at Angell and somehow managed to pull through with the help of the most unbelievable team of doctors at Angell. Java is on 10 heart pills daily and he wears a belly band diaper going through 4 poise pads every 2-3 hrs due to his Lasix. We appreciate him every day that he is with us and realize that his life is going to be very short but he is LOVED and paying his $400-$500 medical bills every month is well worth every dime!!!

We adopted "Bronx" an English Bully in Sept 09 who was in bad shape, he had severe allergies and was missing most of his fur his whole life, we adopted him at 4 yrs old. Bronx was seen by a doggie dermatologist a couple of months ago after we tried controlling his allergies with his regular vet, I now give him allergy injections along with the help of his oral medication's he looks and feels like a new boy... He has become very bonded with both Doey & Java.

I did have a previous boxer girl "Daphne" she was a beautiful petite fawn who passed in 2007 at 6 yrs after a 6 month fight with oral melanoma, there is NOT a day that I don't think of my baby girl and I wear her fur in a locket around my neck every single day so that she is always with me.

About me:

I was a veterinary technician for almost 8 yrs, I left veterinary medicine in Dec 2007 and now own a very busy pet care service, I LOVE my job and working with dogs and cats all day long without having the sadness of the medical world is the BEST! I am also active in Boxer Rescue and All Breed Rescue, I have a foster boxer coming soon.

My husband Brett and I are in our 40's, we are not "kid" people and our dogs our are family... Last year we were married at a dog friendly B&B in VT with both Doey & Java walking us down the aisle for our dog themed wedding.

Woofs & Wags,
Sherri
