Boxer Pal
Hi everyone! I am am a new member, and an avid boxer lover! I have always had at least one boxer. I am 23 yo. and my princess right now is a 8 yo female Boxer, Pepper. She is a brindle Boxer, who is my best friend. As you all know she knows when I am happy, when I am sad and she can always make me laugh. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is very affectionate (only to me) and very loyal. SHe give me nibbles on the ears when she sees me, I love that! Like I said she is my best friend.
My first boxer, my parents got when I was less than a year old, Sally. I grew up with her, and she passed when I was 11 yo. Sally's birthday was one day after mine. She had hip dysplasia and an enlarged heart. I swore it was becasue she loved me sooo much, and I loved her sooooo much. The vet thought we were gonna have to put her down at 9 I was 10. When we got home from the vet, Sally was laying on the bed and I knelt down, and prayed harder than I ever had before and asked God to let her live until our birthday. It was like a miracle. She was better a few days later and lived for another year until 9 days after our birthday. SHe died at home in my moms arms. That morning I left for school and we shared pancakes. I remember the last time I saw her. THe very moment. My mom picked me up for school, I knew. I was devestated. She was my sister and my best friend. My life was never the same.
They have a special place in my heart. They will always be my favorite dog.
I am glad I found more fellow lovers. Thank you for making this site possible

Welcome. You will find like the rest of us have that all Boxers are much alike. We had been told and believed that our first Boxer, Rocky, was a one in a million dog.

When he had to be euthanized, we weren't sure that we would get another. We sincerely believed that there could never be another dog so wonderful. But, after a couple of months in a morbid, dreary house, we started looking for another Boxer.

A couple of months later we got Indy. Now, just over a year old, Indy manifests the same wonderful qualities that Rocky had. Several times I have commented that it seems that Rocky's spirit now resides in Indy's body.

With Indy's arrival, our house became a home again. You will read so many posts on this site that seem to be talking about your dog. I know we read them and nod our heads in understanding.

Yes, they are all different, but in the most important qualities, personality and temperament, they are all very similar.

We're glad you've joined us.

Hi & welcome to BW!!

Thanks so much for sharing your past with Sally with us. It touched my heart so much, I think I'm going to have to go get a kleenex! This site can do that to you. Laughing one minute, and crying the next. It's all good, though! ;)

Anyways, please post pictures when you can. Feel free to post a picture of Sally. We love looking at boxer pictures around here!

Hello and welcome to BW :)

Your story about Sally is so touching. Unfortunately our beloved pets live shorter lives then we do and loosing them breaks our hearts.

Hope to meet you on the forums with stories about your current boxer Pepper. Hope to see her pics soon! :)
