Hi Everyone...

I'm a new member to the site - i was so excited to find a place where people love boxers so much.

My wife and i moved to the Portland, Oregon area about a year ago. Throughout my life, i have had 5 boxers, and i can't imagine having any other breed of dog.

Now that we are settled in, we are considering adopting a boxer.

We would be looking for a female 2-4 year old. She would be the only pet in our townhome. We dont have a backyard, but we are committed to making it work. I've only had boxers at homes with yards in the past, so if anyone has some tips as to the best way to keep a boxer happy in a smaller place, it would be appreciated.

Welcome! We must be neighbors :>)

When we started looking for an adult boxer to adopt, it was difficult to find any in this area. We ended up getting Jazz from a rescue in northern California (they are since no longer operating).

The Oregon Boxer Club website occasionally posts rescue boxers on their site; or you could check out their list of members, to see if any might have any adult boxers they are rehoming.

Good luck finding your new girl!

You might want to post your question in the Boxer Ring, regarding living with a boxer in a townhome - you'll probably get more responses. :)

Every boxer that i've ever had was a "just meant to be" type of situation. I know we'll find a great friend eventually. Thanks for the kind welcome to the board, it's very much appreciated!!!!
