Our family had a beautiful fawn, large male Boxer for 8 years.
Losing him to a bad heart at only age 8 was devastating.
That was 10 years ago and I am thinking of getting another Boxer Puppy.
I am not interested per say in a show dog, just a great dog for many years.
We have a home with a nice back yard on the water and Rocky used to go out fishing with me all the time.
Rocky was an AKC registered Boxer but I now realize that there are many other health issues to consider.
Does anyone know of a South Florida Boxer breeder that has their Dogs health screened?
Also how much can I expect to pay for such a Puppy.
Any Help would be appreciated.

I looked at several Boxer Resuce sites but I mainly want a Puppy, in good health with good genes that will not die prematurely from genetic faults.
8 years was to short the last time.

Mike:
Nobody can give you a breeder referral here - we don't allow Boxerworld to be used to promote individual breeders. The best place to start looking though, is your nearest boxer club, or if there just isn't one anywhere near you, an all-breeds club. There is a list of boxer clubs at http://www.americanboxerclub.org/us-boxer-clubs.html

Just being listed by a club isn't a guarantee of responsibility and appropriate health testing - so you do need to still check those things for yourself. But it's a very good place to start ;) A boxer club should be able to point you in the direction of any breeder members who do appropriate health screening on their breeding stock, and if they don't happen to have any upcoming litters, those people may well be able to refer to you someone who has.

Hi Mike and welcome to Boxer world!!!

We live in Margate florida just outside ft.lauderdale, and we actually got Stella from Petland, she came with all her papers etc too
We also looked online for different breeders or clubs, and found a few, maybe you can look in the sun-sentinel and then check the breeders out!!
Good luck!!!
