New Kid on the block.....

Well.. Sequoia has a new buddy.. After losing our precious TaTanka, she really changed.. She was always so independent, but became clingy, and wouldn't run or play much at all. She just looked so sad most the time..
I have never gotten a boxer that wasn't from a pup, so this was very difficult and a bit scary for me. With all I have on my plate.. Taking care of my 85yr old Mum, who I nearly lost a month ago.. had to rush her to hospital by ambulance, and she is now in need of 24/7 care. Dealing with losing my precious baby TaTanka. (which is looking like he will be vindicated! Attorney has had promising news) Dealing with my own health issues and anxiety over losing TaTanka... And worrying about my little Sequoia.. Little?? *Sheeeeesh* I've been calling her my "Chunky Monkey".. She NEEDS to run and exercise more! I have adopted a new boy.. No name yet... but have a few ideas...
My physical therapist called me when my mother was in hospital, he had been telling a client about my precious TaTanka and this lady had jusy rescued a boxer that was abandoned and wondered if I might be interested. She said he was White with a little caramel coloring! and approx. 1 1/2 yrs old. I asked her to send pics, and I might consider it. Welllll he's certainly not "white".. but he was a pretty boy..
I figured that maybe he has shown up for a reason, as a puppy at this time would be very hard for me to handle, what with all I have on my plate.. (plate?? It looks more like a PLATTER to me!!
I brought him home last Saturday..And am still in shock that I have a FAWN boxer in my home.. I grew up with all fawn /flashy boxers.. and my very own first boxer was a fawn. but.. Whites are my babies.. They're my heart.. and I am lost without my white boy TaTanka.. But there was just something about this guys spirit, he was so calm, and gentle.. Where as Sequoia is Ms. Loco and high strung.. Sooo I brought him home..
They are getting along well.. and I'm learning that I have a little work to do, but am sure that it will all work out. He's a clown, and just fits right in.. Such a blessing.. He's gentle with Mum, and he's submissive to Ms. Alpha Sequoia.. and he follows me around, won't let me out of his sight, just like my precious boy TaTanka did...
So we are healing.. still hard to believe my sweetheart boy is gone, and I will continue this legal battle until I get vindication for my boy.. so far, it's going well..

I read your post when TaTanka passed, I did not leave a message as I was so disturbed the only thoughts that came to mind would not have been allowed on the forum. I am SOOOO pleased you have this handsome boy come into your life I know he will never take the place of your dear TaTanka but from experience I know he will help both you and Sequoia get through the terrible ordeal you have been through, and yes I agree sometimes "these things" DO happen for a reason, I think your precious boy knew you both needed a little help. I hope all goes well with your case and your new family member.

Congratulations on your new addition. He will make a wonderful companion for Sequoia. I think it's good that he's fawn as he won't constantly remind you of TaTanka. From the photo's it looks like they are getting along great.

Karen, he is so nice looking. I am so glad you are finding some happinessYou hadn't posted in a while and I was wondering if everything was ok. You do have a lot on your platter! You'll get through it. I am also glad things are looking good for your case against that vet. Good luck with your new boy and you'll have to let us know what you name him.

I think he is just a handsome guy! What a precious face. I know they will be come fast friends forever. I love puppies dearly, but sometimes I think it would be nice to get one that is already crate and potty trained! Congrats on your new addition.

I also read your post when Tatanka passed and was so overwhelmed by the story. I cried for hours, esp after seeing the pics of what they did to him. Absolutely brutal! I hope that they get what is coming to them. I am so GLAD to hear that you have a precious new boy. He looks like such a sweetie. I agree with the others, things happen for a reason and I think this new addition is just what you need to start picking up the pieces. I know that Tatanka will never be replaced or forgotten, but with your new man in the picture at least maybe it won't be so hard. I look forward to hearing what happens with the vet!

He is ao handsome. I believe he was meant for you and your family. It works out well with him being a male. Our last addition was Cat, a female and it took quite a bit of work. I connot wait to hear what you name him.
