I haven't been to BoxerWorld for a while, so please bear with me if I'm a little slow on the draw.
One thing I've noticed here is that people seem to switch their boxer's food when anything new comes along. Please remember to not only look at the ingredients but make sure to compare the guaranteed analysis and kcal. How nutrient dense a food is, is measured by kcal/cup, kcal/pound, etc. This is the figure used to see how much food to feed AND to see if it is full of fillers or quality ingredients. The higher the kcal the more nutrient dense the food is = how much of the food is being used by the body. Make sure to look at all 3 of these things before changing foods. All dogs will like a new food with lots of fun taste, but in the long run will they continue to like it and is it actually healthy for them? (and by the way alot of highly nutritious foods are very palatable to all pets) I've worked in a Pet Supply Store and actually talked to a Diamond Food nutritionist and he still couldn't give me an answer as to why Chicken Soup has such a low kcal figure. IMHO Diamond has tried to recreate Innova in a generic pkg, by using the Chicken Soup for the Soul's emotionally drawn audience.
Sorry this was so long. I've created a comparison booklet of Dry dog food and you wouldn't believe how many pet food co make it so hard to get public information from them. Sc Diet would only answer 4 questions each phone call. I had to call them for 12 days just to get the kcal/cup, complete ingredient list, and omega3 and omega 6 info -and this was not about their Prescription diets!
Thanks for letting me vent.
