Hi, my name is Donna and I just adopted my very first boxer puppy. I was very excited to find this website when I was doing my research into the breed. I got a lot of great tips and learned alot about the boxer. My new puppy is a fawn female with a black mask. Riley is 11 weeks old and already weighs 16 pounds. Her parents were very large and she was the biggest puppy in the litter. So I am sure she is going to be a big girl! She has been with us for three days now and is adjusting nicely. I would greatly appreciate any tips you may have and I look foward to reading more stories!

Welcome Donna. As you already know, this is a great site with a lot of wonderful people. It's very addictive though, so watch out!

Welcome welcome welcome!! Pretty much no matter what your question or problem you can get an answer here on this site. And no matter what crazy things your boxer does- someone else's does it too, so they can help you out for sure. Good luck with your new pup and enjoy!!

Wonderful world of Boxers

Donna, I am new to this site and am so glad I found it! I have a fourteen year old male Boxer, Duke. He is old, gray and tired, but is still very much a puppy at heart when with his family. Boxers have their own personalities, but Duke has never really gone beyond the "puppy" stage in many ways. We had him before our children (who are 10, 8 and 4) and he loves them dearly. He has been "ridden" by all of them and because we never had his ears clipped, they have been hung onto by children and once by a gopher snake! He is the best natured dog you could imagine. He now has arthritis and although we are treating it, we know that he will not be with us much longer. We love our "Dukey" so much that I am trying to locate my mom's last Boxer...a female that she gave to a friend when she moved out of state. I am hoping to let him breed one last time and hope for a pup with his personality in return. Duke is very large, but still thinks he can fit into our laps (somehow, we make him fit).
I grew up with a female Boxer and I think that once you own one, you will never get the same love, devotion , affection or adoration from any other breed.
Good luck with your girl and I wish you many happy years with her!
