Eric, wishing you good luck with Moses. I hope it works out for you. I agree with Barb, I can barely stand to read "my family turned me in because there was a new baby/divorce/they didn't have time for me..." :( People are just so thoughtless and cruel sometimes.

Eric: Best of luck with a new sister or brother for Jedi! I am sure what ever you decide on Jedi will be thrilled.

:(

me too!!

:(

but the upside is those dogs aren't in a home where they are no longer loved and that they get a new chance at love with a family that desperately wants them and wants them to be happy :D

Ok, here is the latest update for those whom have expressed interest in watching me on pins and needles ;)

Moses is available and I am the first person to inquire about that hunk o' boxer love. I was given the contact info to the foster home he is at and sent an e-mail and am awaiting a response.

It seems he was purchased by a young guy who moved to an apartment and pets where not allowed there. He contacted the rescue but in the mean time Moses was shipped from friend to friend. None wanted to keep him so the rescue kept in contact and finally received him from the last owner. The good news is the last owner had young kids (one was a toddler) and Moses was great with them (the foster mom saw this first hand on a visit).

Moses knows basic commands like sit and such but has not had any real training from anyone with a clue. He has not been abused, just confused. In the words of the lady I talked to from the Rescue, he has been passed around like moonshine at a hoedown, rofl.

Moses is supposed to be big and strong (hrm, sounds like Jedi) and is being introduced to a Gentle Leader by his loving foster mom. I think this is great, because I use one on Jedi for walks and I swear by them.

Eventually I plan on finishing my leash training with just a collar and lead, but that has been hard with knee surgery and no long walks allowed for most of this summer.

Moses is submissive, it seems when another dog gives him a correction he falls into line immediately. I don't see this being an issue, because Jedi is not submissive, but he is pretty laid back for his overall attitude.

Oh well, that is all the news that is fit to post for now. More as I find out myself.

Oh, how exciting!!!

Keeping all fingers and paws crossed that Moses has the opportunity to become Jedi's brother and live out his life in the care of such a loving family. :)

(And be sure to give your wife an extra hug for being such an understanding sweetie!!)

OK, I am sooo excited. Just got off the phone with the foster mom and she gave a glowing report. My favorite line was she wished she could tell me how horrible he is, so she could keep him for herself.

He was taken by the Rescue on Thursday and he is getting fixed on Tuesday. This is the first rescue dog for this foster mom, Moses is breaking her in, lol.

She is not sure when he will be able to meet Jedi and us so they can play and see how they get along. It depends on how he does with the neuter, she is going to check with those more experienced in the Rescue and of course by how Moses does himself. I sure hope his neuter goes off without a problem and he doesn't hurt to much.

So now I am just bursting over here and wondering when we will see him. I am betting not til next week some time. Oh well, let you know more when I do.

Wow, can't wait to hear about a get together!

I hear a lot of positives and it sounds from the brief description that he could be a fit in your home.

I am excited to see what Moses and Jedi think of each other. Thanks for keeping us posted.:D

Now that you mention it, we have it planned now. Unless something changes the date of our meet up will be this upcoming Sunday at 1pm CST. Wooohooo!

The foster mom and a more experienced Rescue volunteer will be there and of course Moses and his foster Boxer sister who's name I have not caught yet, was too focused on talking about Mo.

How cool is this, my wife and I will hang out with 2 Boxer loving ladies and 3 Boxers!

So exciting!!! Remembers me when I ask about Igor via e-mail, with a lot of excitation but even more apprehention, because I was so sure I was too late and someone has already choosen him!!!:p Nope, like you, I was the first, and everything turned out as a dream!!!:) I sincerly wish you the same thing!

Igor is not a rescue, I'm not sure I could have deal with another boxer with health or fear issues, after two hard years of worries and hard times taking care of my little sick girl. I was too afraid to find another boxer like her, so I did choose him carefully, but with all your beautiful stories, I will think about rescue for my next one!
