In the middle of the stress of divorce, I'm sure your friend is greatly relieved that her Kona will go to a wonderful, loving home. What a nice thing you are doing for this baby!
I see it more from a selfish view point. Kona is rescuing me from having only 1 Boxer and he is saving Jedi from boredom. As I look at Jedi snoozing on his pillows, little does he know what I have in store for him, muahahahaha. Then again the same can be said for Kona, being neutered this upcoming Thursday, snicker.
Congratulations on Kona!!! You are gonna have a blast with 2 boxers. You're friend can rest easily knowing Kona will be in a good home & that she can come see him whenever she wants.
Eric -
I spied pictures of Kona in your gallery, and it's wonderful that you will be adding him to your family! I know it's a yay-boo situation, as your friend's divorce is not a happy time. But the fact that Jedi and Kona are already great pals will make the transition so much easier! And, I know that Moses will have a new forever home soon as well. Congrats on the addition!
We adopted Omar when we lived in TX through a similar situation. A friend of mine at work and her husband had gotten Omar for their son for his birthday. The son promised he'd take care of Omar. Eventually their life became too busy with the boy's activities and the sports he was involved in, and Omar was often forgotten.
He ran the streets from morning to night as an intact male and the dad was tired of having to pay to spring Omar from the doggie-jail.
My friend knew how much we loved Magnum and asked me if we wanted Omar.
The entire situation came about during my search for a second dog and I knew instantly it was the right thing to do. I have never, ever regretted it either. Omar has brought us great joy and we love him to pieces. He is a completely different dog now.
Good luck with Kona - the newest member of the family.
p.s. We just neutered Omar this year and he sends his regards to Kona. :p
