I am buying a ruff wear k9 II coat for Mugsy for the winter. I am having difficulty sizing him though. He is only 1 year old and weighs about 65 lbs. His parents were both on the large side - his mom was 75-80 lbs, and his dad is about 90lbs. I have a feeling that Mugsy will be at least 75-80lbs by the time he is full grown.
Mugsy is 30" in girth and 23" long. On the sizing chart, he falls right in the large category exactly in length and girth. The large runs from 30-38" in girth and 23" in length. The extra large runs from 35-46" in girth and 26" in length.
This is something that I want Mugsy to be able to wear in years to come. He still has growing to do, and I don't want to get the wrong size and kick myself for it later. Should I get the large or x-large? What would you do?
