Need idea's for grad. gift

We were invited to a graduation party for next Sat. but don't have a clue what is a good gift or if we give money, how much. The girl is a graduate from a university, not high school. We are not real close, just someone we have known for years because we're in the same business and one of my husbands cleints.

Gift certificate of some sorts...Starbucks,a decent restaurant,WalMart etc if she is going out on her own.

Yes I agree Gift Certificates are the best bet...

We always give a gift certificate to a local (to them) suit shop for the guys or a nicer shop for the girls so they can ditch their T-shirts and jeans for more professional attire. They have lots of interviews coming up!

I agree...gift certificate/gift card...best idea, especially if they will moving out on their own now, etc....you can get gift cards for just about everything/any store nowadays, and some even can be used at multiple stores--you can even get Visa giftcards from your bank to be used anywhere...

Since she is graduating from college and not HS, I would have to agree with a gift card somewhere. I will be graduating soon and I know I always LOVE target gift cards.

I like the gift card idea.

When I graduated from college a friend gave me an engraved business card holder with my name on it. It’s been almost 20 years and I still use it.

My grandparents always gave engraved pen and pencil sets for graduations. They higher up you went the nicer the set.

Gift cards are awesome. When my sister graduated from college, people tried really hard to get her things she would need, so she ended up w/ a million towels, most w/ no tags so they couldn't be exchanged. If you let the new grad pick out their own stuff, they will appeciate it so much.

Thanks for the gift card ideas, I think I will get a Target or Kohl's because they both have a lot of different things. What's the going rate. I was thinking between 30 and 50 dollars. I don't want to look cheap.
