Need Healing Vibes

Lieutenant My 7 yr old boxer boy has suddenly gotten sick!!! Since yesterday morning he just hasn't peed at all. He tries bless his poor heart and it's like he's always trying but nothing comes out. I took him to the vet this morning and they kept him most the day. He got a catheter <sp?> and had a penecillin injection. The did an xray but found no blockage? Got some antibiotics and some pain meds. His poor little red rocket is out constantly. I took him to poop tonight and he did poop which the vet wanted but he grunted an moaned about it like it hurt? I'm laying with him all night an giving him love. The vet is supposed to call tommorow am. I don't know what will happen from here??? God I hope it's just a bladder infection or something that simple? Please Please Please!!! :confused:

Ahhha, your poor baby!! I know you're worried sick. I just hate hearing about so many sick babies. I'd be just like you and so tormented. Please know that you and your boy are in my thoughts and prayers and please God it will not be anythng too serious. Sending lots of healing vibes your way. Hugs.

We'll keep you and your boy in our thoughts. My schnauzers are all senior citizens too. I never expected them to get what I would think of as a human disease, congestive heart failure the other diabetes.

It's heart wrenching to watch them when their sick, it is a helpless feeling for us. Keep us posted on this progress.

Have they checked his kidneys?

Update on LouDog

So...Lieutenant was pretty much awake all night groaning in pain. Took him out to try to go to the bathroom at 5:00 a.m., and pooped a tiny bit. Ended up calling the Vet and took him back in. They did another x-ray and this time they found three bladder stones, two in the bladder and one in the urethra, which was blocking the flow of urine. Why they didn't show up the day before ~ we do not know. The vet tried to run another catheter to drain the bladder to try to relieve some of Lt's pain, but was not successful. Off to Overland Park we go to an emergency care place, which our vet referred us to, since Lt was in danger and she was not able to do anything further. We checked in, went over what was going on, and the vet there ended up giving him Valium and Hydrocodone to relax him, and then inserted a catheter and drained his bladder. In that process the vet said she moved the bladder stone, but wasn't sure if she pushed it back into the bladder, or if it just moved enough that he was able to pass urine now. So now we have to call a vet to do surgery on Monday. Lieutenant came home this afternoon, with a catheter still in. They taught us how to empty the bag. :( We're keeping him comfortable and giving him his medicine until we find out what to do on Monday.

Oh your poor little man. I can't imagine how painful it must have been for him to try and pee. But now at least he'll get it all fixed and he'll be fine again. Wishing him a successful surgery and lots of kisses and hugs for a speedy recovery. Hugs.

Poor guy! I can't imagine the pain he must be in. :( Where in Kansas are you? Was KC closer than K-State? At least it sounds like it is something that can be taken care of, nothing that should be life threatening to him (I'm no expert though). Please keep us posted on his condition and we will send our boxer healing vibes his way.

What a traumatic time and all the back and forth to vets. Poor fella must be horrible. WE know how humans are when they have this problem.
