Is anyone going to Myrtle Beach for bike week?(May 7-May 16)
Me, my husband, and Harli are going. We are staying with friends that live in the Garden City-Surf City area.

I just got back from Myrtle Beach, I had a really good time. Next year I plan to go during bike week with a friend off mine. I told her how much fun I had and now she want's to go. Have a great time!

My parents live at Myrtle, so I try to go visit at every opportunity. ;) You'll have a great time - if you are in the city of Myrtle or North Myrtle Harli will not be allowed on the beach from 9am - 5pm and has to be on a 6' lead at all times. Just thought I would give you a head's up. They also fine $250 for not cleaning up after your pet. Myrtle is great though, and down near Surfside is Myrtle Beach State Park which is a great park with trails, pool and lots of great beach frontage (not sure if they allow dogs on the beach during the day or not). The only other warning I'll give is avoid the Texas Roadhouse steakhouse in Surfside - second worst meal I've ever had and it's not part of the chain, so they don't care if you have a bad time. I'll never go back there again. It was horrible.

Have a great time! It's a fun place to be.

We're not going this year but we've actually been looking to buy a condo in Myrtle. Problem is no dogs allowed. We're checking into some townhomes but they are few and far between. I do however hear that Myrtle is a very dog friendly place.

Speaking of food, if you are near Pier 14, try eating there, the steak is great. I think that is my favorite place to eat down there.

Try at Kingston Plantation ( www.kingstonplantationrealestate.com ). That's where my parents live - they live in North Hampton, one of the highrise biuildings, and dogs are not allowed - but just back from them are several townhouse developments and since they are single family with individual exits, dogs are allowed. They have a real estate office on site, and a link on the webpage.

All in all, MBSC ranks "so-so" for dog friendlieness - there's not a whole lot for dogs to do, and not really any pet stores, but I take Bax to see his grands every so often. If you wanna take your pup(s) when you visit, I recommend the Myrtle Beach Mariner ( www.myrtlebeachmariner.com ) as the best dog friendly hotel on the grand strand.

Thank you very much for the info. We are hoping to get something that we can bring Caesar with us when we vacation. I dread the thought of owning something and being there often and not having him with us.
