First let me say that I was new to the whole Boxer thing, I used to raise Shar-Peis, when my Miko died from cancer we decided to try a different breed. My sister owns a pet store and had a mixed breed brought in, my sister called and I rushed over and fell in love with Jack. Jack is my baby but not a full boxer. A year later I got Katie from her, papers and all. Katie is a beautiful full bred boxer. Now I have 2 dogs one pure Boxer, one half boxer.
My sister called me at work a few months ago and asked if I could come over after I got off. I went to the store and laying on the floor by her feet was Baxter, he was shaking, I wasn't sure if it was from the cold or that he was just scared. He could hardly walk and you could see every rib he has, not to mention the backbone. My heart melted and I new that my husband who's motto is NO MORE ANIMALS would agree we needed to get him well. My sis said that the people who bought him from her didn't take care of him and she called the Breeder who said she didn't want anything that looked like him, she wouldn't be able to sell him looking that way. My youngest son fell in love with Daxter and he now belongs to him. He stated when I brought him home, "I have enough love to get him well, can I keep him?' So now Daxter whose name changed due to a new happy life is getting well, he had some problems but we are working on them. The vet is wonderful and understanding. My son has a best friend and Daxter is learning to be happy again.

Thank you for your kindness toward this poor pup,His breeders should not be allowed to own a dog,all these BYB are just a like, only in it for the money, people like yhis make me sick!Never could I breed or sell my dogs to someone that wouldn't take care of them! Please give this pup the home & love he deserves. LOL, Hanley

I loved your story so much. I am glad you joined BW...welcome! I just rescued a boxer named Deeg in October. I know you will love BW. It is like having a place to share your love for boxers with others who feel the same way. Deeg say..."WOOO woo Woo, Welcome, woo woooo Ruff." which means...he is glad you joind BW.

Thank you!

You have answered my Logan's wish to Santa (previous post). He too is a rescue and there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't let us know how appreciative he is to be loved and cared for. I really feel with all my heart that they know how lucky they are when they are adopted. I'm so happy for you all!

I just wanted to update you on Daxter...He is doing better everday. You can tell he is Logan's dog and where ever Logan goes so does Dax. I am wanting to put a picture of him on but not sure how to do it. He is like a new dog. All of his problems but one are gone. He still has trouble with his back legs but beyond that he is a normal, healthy, loving dog. Thank you all for your support.
