my little guy not doing so well

We have some great news! We went and picked our baby up a couple hours ago. Hes not 100% yet but hes made a 90% recovery. Which speaking from last night when I spoke to the vet and he wasn't even sure if he was going to make it through the night. This little guy has come a long way in less than 24 hours. So he got sent home with an antibiotic and a steroid. So hopefully he continues to just get better and better until hes back to his old 100% self. We just need to keep a close eye on him and call if he seems to be acting abnormal at anytime.
Right now he is laying next to me snoozing. poor little guy is tuckered out. So we're just keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't go downhill again and he just continues to get better.
i am so happy to have him home with me again I was so scared that things weren't going to end up like this. I was almost convinced that we would never be bringing him home as bad off as he was last night. So I am thrilled that I have my baby here with me now. I got him a bowl of food right when we got home and he scarfed it down right away.
Its science diet which I know yuck. But we originally had him on chicken soup puppy formula and he hasn't really been eating it and when he was at the vets he actually ate the science diet. i called the pet store that I get my food from and she told me to bring the bag of food back and she will give me a 100% refund so I can get him something new. So we are doing that saturday. The vet gave me the bag of science diet for free so we're just going to use that up until then and to make the switch to the new food on saturday.

We still have no clue what caused kane to get so sick. The vet told me to keep an eye on him and if it happens again i need to get him back so they can do some xrays and run some more tests. If it happens again there may be a chance that its something genetic. She mentioned the possibility of a something liver shunt? But if its not genetic than the other possibility is that it was toxins and if thats the case we still have no idea what it could have been. We keep our yard picked up considering the fact we have 3 young kids and the dogs. So we're still clueless.
