My Jade has a voice

For those that don't know Jade is 3 years old and I just saved her from terrible conditions. Anyway the real story here... Jade has never made any noises. No barks, no whine or whimpersince I got her. NOTHING!!!! She also has never played with anything in her mouth. She is finally playing with a ball and loves that and is getting braver and very nutty. Anyway today I made a roast that had a bone in it. You know the kind that have the hole in the middle full of marrow. So I decided to give that to her once it was cool enough. She went right to it chomping away. She looked so happy. Then I was outside smoking (I know terrible habit but I do it outside) and I really wasn't paying any attention to her. She was standing right by me looking up at me and I knew it but I am trying to teach her that just because I am right there doesn't mean she has to have pats. Anyway out of nowhere she jumped up a little and then got down in the "I'm gonna get you" mode and said aaarrrrrgghhh. Just like that. Not loud but she wanted me to pay attention and even though I am trying to teach her something I had to make a big deal of that. I wanted very much for her to know that "talking" is ok. I am so excited!!! I am positive that means she is happy. It may have been the wrong thing to do, reinforcing noises get attention but she was so quiet and I am secretly wanting to hear the boxer "woo woo" song since I have never heard it. Anyway I just wanted everyone to share in my excitement of my baby having a voice!!!!!

What an awesome story!!! I`m soo excited for you and your Jade. I could just picture her in my head. How cute!! I love to hear about rescue stories and happy tails for all these mistreated animals. By the way, my Butch will be two in April and I`m still waiting to hear this "woo woo song", that I`ve been reading soo much about. I keep singing it to him hoping to get him to repeat it back at me

That is wonderful ....makes you feel on top of the world! Way to go Jade! appicon We taught Nikita the speak command, so when we say SPEAK she lets out a bark! Nikita does the "I'm gonna get you" and then moves side to side and if I don't do anything she mouths my shoes to let me know she wants to play. It's like a game of tag for them, but it's so cute!

It is like hearing your kids first word. She is very playful today! Mouthing my pants and playing chase with my hubby and her ball. It is so nice to really feel that she is happy.

I love hearing stories like that! We also rescued my Clay and whoever said once they start they dont stop was correct. It seems each day he gets more and more vocal....enjoy it. This time next year youll be in shock and how far shes come.

what a great story, way to go jade. i know that GDOGS can woo woo but only does it when my brother comes over other than then NOTHING but he does bark,growl but no woo wooing.where in Nebraska are you???maybe we can get the two together.

Awww...so sweet. I've been following Jade's story and to hear that she really feels comfortable and loved is so touching. I bet she is so thankful she found you and her pups and now giving her a second chance at LIFE!!!!

I also think she is talking now because she is so happy! I'll bet she develops a vocabulary soon. Scrappy makes all kinds of interesting sounds to communicate and I can usually figure out what he means!
