Thanks for the support
It is with great sadness that I had to help my baby to the bridge.
In the late nite that I posted this thread I was out of town at my parents house for the weekend. That nite I stayed up with him ALL nite. He was getting worse by the minute. His front rite leg would not hold him up, his paws were very irratated and bleeding in spots from spinning, he had a rug burn on his rear from trying to get up and was panting uncontrolably, his eyes were clouding and as he softly laid with me that nite I knew what he wanted and was not sure I could accept it. At 5 am in the morning while Cooper lay asleep I went to make coffee and sat at the table and bawled my eyes out, My mom woke up and we talked for hours and I continued to cry. I realized that it hurt me more to watch him try to get through the day then it would to help him to the bridge, while not an easy decision it was the best one for my baby.
While my heart aches and I continue to bawl my eyes out I know that he is free and in a much better place. I have NO regrets about this whole process and I am comfortable that I have kept all my promises to him that I made to him the day I got him. He had a WONDERFUL life...the best food, all the toys he could ever want, bones, chew toys, a fenced yard to romp in, great medical care, friends, family, and whatever else he wanted or I thought he needed or wanted.
I have been very lucky that I have been able to be with him non-stop the last 5 months of his life we got to spend a lot of quality time together.
While I still can not bring myself to change my signature yet I also can not yet post him in the rainbow bridge section as it is still so painful and I am giving myself some time to be able to think clearly when I do because I want it to be a special.
My parents made the arrangements and paid for my boy to be brought back to me when he is ready. It should be in the next day or two now. My parents will be taking me to a nursery to pick out a magnolia tree that I can plant in his memory as Cooper LOVED the magnolia tree in one of my old houses.
I promise I will also get some pictures in my gallery of all my babies so that you can see them, I have been meaning to do it for awhile now.
I thank you all SOOOOO much for the love and support you have given me. This is my first loss. I have also decided to go to a support group for pet loss which I think will be a great experience.
Happy Valentines day my lil fuzz-butt....I miss you something awful
