Last night was a horrible night for me.. Our family mechanic was working in the back, when he ran into the house. "Daniel, something is wrong with Tank, come out here". I ran outside, and I see my dog laying there lifeless. I ran up, felt for pulse nothing felt his mouth for breathe nothing.. I don't know what happened to him.. He was a great dog, full of life, healthy, spoiled, loved... I just don't understand!! :( He was only 6 years old, White boxer, had the face of Peetie on Lil Rascals.

I did notice a few things when I examined him. I found 4 hard round black stools by his butt, almost like he lost control. His gums were extremely white, with a purple tinge around his teeth. He was my main Dog, his Mate Cassie (Fawn Boxer) is now mateless, and I feel bad. I really have no idea how he died...I will truly miss him, RIP Tank... You will be missed!

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a horrible thing to go through........

Are you planning to have your vet do a necropsy in order to find out what happened?

I really wish I could afford one.. I asked the Vet today.. it costs 3k :( They say it was probably a heart attack. At first I thought someone may have poisoned Tank. I took him today for cremation. I'll have him next to my previous female boxer Nova. I truly love boxers, and will have to get another one soon.

Will this effect my 2nd dog in anyway? I've never had a pair of dogs, and then have one of them go like that. They were both very tight, perfect for eachother. I was thinking of getting a 3 month old boxer pup from the Bay Area Boxer Rescue. Not sure how Cassie will react, or is that even a good idea?

Oh my goodness. How sad is that. I am so very very sorry to learn about Tank. I can't imagine your pain. Most likely it was his heart as my vet just recently told me that the first sign can be death. Pls. pls. know you are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP sweet angel. angelicon

I'm so sorry about the loss of your boy. :( I know how hard it can be to lose them so suddenly. The loss of bowel and blatter control happens at the time of death, this happened when our Roxy passed due to a massive heart attack. I agree with the previous poster, it was likely an undiagnosed and unnoticed heart condition. Run free sweet tank. angelicon

sorrow has many meanings, until you experience it,they all are meaningless,i only hope the 6 years you were able to share helped the world seem like a better place.let me just say I am sorry for your loss.
