Hi All,
I have posted here before regarding my boxer's cardiomyopothy, and he has fooled everyone and is still here 10 months after his diagnosis, (no meds) !
But now we are having other old man issues... He turned 11 in December, and has been drinking tons of water , and urinating while walking in the house... Took him to the vets, thinking it was a uti, but she tested everything and he was fine... So we figure it is just old age and can't control his sphycter muscles anymore. Ok, we can deal with that... But this morning I found him on our new sofa sleeping (he knows he is not allowed on that particular sofa), so I gently scolded him and we went on with our morning. Later , I see that where he usually sleeps (a futon sofa in the computer room) there is a big wet spot. I can tell by the spot that he must of done this in his sleep...Anyone know of anything that I can do to help him? I know this is a part of his old age, but my husband is going to have a fit, if Doc starts urinating on everything! Please help, I know by all the signs that his old age is catching up with him and we might not have Doc much longer, and the thought of losing him is horrible... I just want his last possible year with us to be one of love and dignity, that the boxer breed so deserves...He is his usual lovey and funny self otherwise...Any suggestions as to what others have gone thru or done with their elderly boxers?
Thanks so much for you advice and help...

) but incontinence problems can often be helped by adding a couple of teaspoons of fresh chopped parsley to his food each day. I don't know why that helps, but in a great many cases it does. Certainly worth a try anyway
