Here it is Tuesday May 1. The Vet can not get a read on Jakes biopsy. We were told one of three things. One worst case of hepatitis they ever seen, two mild case of cancer, didn't know there was a mild case of cancer, Or three the worse kind of cancer any dog could get and no help for it. So here we have Jake still when he eats he will throw it up 5 minutes later still drinks plenty of water so he is not dehydrated. That morning we decided to take Jake to another Vet for other opinion. Vet wanted to keep Jake for over night observance. Jake got an IV and a plasma juicers I would call it. [ if they get better OK if not then it is just about the end] Well Jake didn't get any better if no worse. Well one of the hardest things to do is make planes to put your best friend down and him not know what you are doing it is really heart wrenching. Wednesday night I got a call from the Vet that did the biopsy on Jake and all the time he was talking to me he kept saying how sorry he was that the tests that were preformed didn't tell us more about Jakes liver condition, because they still don't know what is wrong with Jake. Well I told the Vet it don't matter as we were going to put Jake down on Saturday May 5. That Vet pleaded with me that he was almost cried not to do this to Jake and give Jake one more week on this medication. Prednisone Mg 4 times a day. Well I told him I would still give it till Saturday he still pleading with me to give it a week. I told this Vet I would have to consult with my new Vet about this. called new Vet next morning told him about my conversation with the biopsy Vet. The new Vet is an old guy that really disagreed with the biopsy Vet but also wanted me to stop all other medications. Jake was taking 5 different medications and keeping them down but not food. Well would you believe it that morning Jake ate two eggs and toast and kept it down. The second Vet called me and said that the prednisone was OK but he wanted to also give him a pill that would help his liver URSODIOL Mg. People you will not believe it Jake is almost back to himself vis eating and keeping it down. He has a Vet visit on Tuesday just for a check up and blood work. That second drug is a drug from the gallbladder of a bear yes you heard me , but it is a synthetic of the real thing. So as we see it Jake is now on his way to a recovery thanks to an old Vet and his old ways. The new Vet is also telling the Pathologist how he can get a real test result with the specimens he has he will know at the time of Jake's next check up on Tuesday. hears keeping our fingers crossed.
