Hey Donna, I read somewhere in another post, that you were a volunteer EMT. I wanted to post right away, but something came up and I didn't. Guess where I work?? I work for an ambulance service!
I'm not an EMT (and don't plan to become one)... I do the payroll (for about 100 people), maintain all the computers and the network, do the accounts receivable, and some billing. Small world, huh??
I really have to say I admire (you) and all of our EMTs and Paramedics. They go through SO much everyday, and really give their hearts to help people. I've seen them after they come back from a run, just crying their hearts out (mostly runs with children).... and then they go on another run. It's a very noble job to have. (My heart couldn't handle that job, that's why I work in the office! I don't think I'd last a day on the street!) God bless you!
But yes, helping others is sometimes the best medicine for yourself. When Ginger was diagnosed with her cancer, I searched and searched this board for someone that had a similar experience--I didn't find any bone cancer folks out there (lots of lymphoma and heart problems though). They all gave me great support and love, but I couldn't find anyone that said "my dog did that too". So I don't mean this in a bad way (I wish you never had to deal with bone cancer), but it's really nice for me to be able to help you (and Glory) through this. Bone cancer (of any kind) is different in a way. And Glory, I know how it feels to go through several biopsys and not get a confirmed diagnosis... (Ginger was diagnosed at my vets office after her 2nd biopsy, with a slide under his microscope, identifying only 2 cells of hundreds on the slide.)
Ladies, we are a geat group. We are strong, and have beautiful loving hearts, and terrific babies (some of them are already angels)!! The angels are watching over all of us and sending their love!!!
Ok, now I'm going to cry!!!
HUGS to everyone!!!
