It would have to be something that is not easily digested that would make the dog very ill in order for a vet to want to remove it. My answer would be pennies. I read somewhere that due to the copper it can actually cause a poison like reaction if left there over time!

I read on the Yahoo Odd News a few weeks ago about a Boxer somewhere in Europe that had to have an entire rubber duckie removed from his stomach. The owner noticed he was getting a little sluggish & took him to the vet & they did x-rays. The vet removed it & it had been in there so long it had turned black & completely hardened!! YUCK!

I would say that it's probably pennies....

In our house it would have to be either rocks/pebbles or stuffed toy filling :)

I would have to guess rubber / tennis ball. My previous vet was telling me that she had a GS come in with stomach problems, did an xray and did surgery to removed an intact can of tomato soup. OMG Her advice to me, if you think its too big for them to swallow, think again. I have always heeded that advice.

I have to guess rocks also! In a vets office they had a showcase with all different rocks removed from dogs’ stomachs - one was HUGE!
