Meeting people..any ideas?

I was thinking, you could always give invites to all the neighbors in the close vicinity of your house. (Maybe pick 20 or so houses if there are that many). Do a "neighborhood" cookout or game night or something. Set up a volleyball net, horseshoes, play football, or whatever and have a fun get-together!

That sounds like a great idea!! Paul and I might have to do that when WE move! We love cook outs! And Maggie would love all the attention she'd get! hahaha!

The other thing I thought of was online FRIEND sites. Not the ones looking to meet a mate, the ones that are out there for people who just want to make new friends. Friendfinder is one of them. I've met several of my female friends from online. I even have one waiting for me in Florida for when we move! haha! She keeps bugging me to get down there so we can go shopping! LOL Just an idea. It's certainly not for everone.

Volunteer work is a great way to meet people. I volunteered for the Racine Literacy Council shortly after I got here and met a lot of truly wonderful people through that organization. And had a lot of fun things like Irish Night for Literacy. Even better!
