I just wanted to share that I just adopted the most beautiful girl. She is a 3 yr old fawn who has three legs. She has quite a story behind her. At 4 months of age, she was found in a california shelter with a severly deformed leg. She was taken out by a boxer rescue in L.A., I do believe it is Ursula who runs it. Her leg was broken in four places. After the leg was amputated she was adopted by a young woman. After two and a half years, this poor woman was stricken with diabetes and started loosing vision and went into kidney failure. Her family flew her and her dogs to their house where she proceed to worsen. She went into a coma. The older of her two dogs attacked the boxer(maggie) due to all of the stress. Maggie was in bad shape. The woman's parents could not manage both of the dogs and decided they needed to keep the older dog(he is eleven) since Maggie would have a better chance of adoption. Her family contacted Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue(where i volunteer) and we immediatley agreed to take her in. I happen to be at the surrender and it was love at first sight. Even though she had a foster home ready, i grabbed her and ran. We are blessed to say we have now adopted her. Her previous owner will never beable to come out of a nursing home and I have arranged with her parents to bring Maggie there for visits.
She is truely an angel and we are the luckiest family to have her.
