Mabel was attacked by a Fisher cat

Nasty, mean, ugly weasel-y kind of thing that's about the size of a fox.

She is now at the emergency animal hospital getting the knicked artery in her face sewn back together. She will also be getting stitches on her throat, her chest and her leg.

I have her blood all over my clothes. :(

I had to go in after the dog since that freaking nightmare of an animal wasn't backing off. Bless Mabel's little heart, she was fighting back just as viciously as she was getting. That thing came at me and my baby ran in front of me and lunged at it. She was protecting me. I love that dog.

I grabbed her collar and PULLED and hauled her up into my arms (sixty pounds of puppy...I didn't even feel it...) When that thing came at me again I just threw my foot at it. Thank goodness for Doc Marten shoes, eh?

OHMYGOD a critter tried to kill my baby! Okay, I'm sobbing again.

Watch out for fisher cats, guys. They are NASTY.

I have never heard of a Fisher cat. Is that like a feral cat? Hope your baby heals and isnt freaked out by the attack..poor baby.

Any news of the fisher cat? Can you call animal control about it? Oh my God! I just googled that thing and it is crazy looking. Looks like a badger! I was not sure if you were being dramatic about the blood or nicked facial artery. I am amazed Miss Mable made it out of that fight ok. God bless your baby!
