Boxer Pal
Good morning everyone,
My boxer is 5 months old, I am traning her not to sleep with me in my bed, she can be everywhere in the house except my bed at night. It is the second morning that I wake up to see her and her fur is all bubbled up like big lumps but the skin as nothing. Maggy is always with me, she even comes to the office with me everyday. I am just wondering if anyone as ever experienced this before.
Thank you, Isabelle

It sounds like hives and they are very common. It could be an allergic reaction to something. I have never been able to pin point what causes Joey to get them but when he does I give him Benedryl. You can give 1 mg per lb of body weight. This should clear them up.

Thank you and you are right, Maggy is allergic to something but we are not sure what. The vet prescribed something in case it happened again but I will take not of Benedryl because sometime getting to the vet can be a pain. I appreciate the help since I have been on this for 2 days now.

My female boxer has had this happen a couple of times when she has gotten a shot at the vets. She is allergic to the parvo shot.

My male boxer had this happen when he got bit by a horsefly last summer.

It really is the weirdest looking thing when they get hives.
