I don't know what it is about Boxers that make their owners out seek total strangers who have one.
It sort of falls along the lines of a few other massive known "clicks".
Harley Davidson riders ALWAYS give a hand gesture to other riders when they pass.
Corvette owners do a "head-thing" to each other when they pass.
Jeep owners have the whole crazy thing as well....."It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" (Jeep owner here!).
And now being a Boxer owner for quite some time I fall right into the Boxer stalker been stalked thing.
Just to compound things for myself even further my JEEP license plates read:
BOXER K9
I have had people YELL at me while driving.....I LOVE BOXERS TOO! (or similar).
Now, being a professional pet sitter/dog walker I can telly you with 100% certainty (although not scientific) that I have walked pretty much every breed known to man (well almost) and I have NEVER experienced a Lab owner rushing up to me to tell me that they too have a Lab (or a Peke, GSD, Pom, Poodle, Beagle, Basset, Schnauzer, etc...)
It IS A BOXER THING!!
But it is that we as Boxer lovers/owners all share some funky DNA hence our attraction and love for the breed or is it the BOXER themselves who "taint" us (in a good way) with a certain chemical that traps us for life?? LOL

Oooh, the whole nature vs nurture question!
We have had a cocker mix, a german shorthair pointer a weimaraner and now three boxers. I grew up with english setters. The boxers beat them all as far as comments made by complete strangers, and we definitely keep an eye out for other boxers. But I do still make a fuss over the weims, too...

I've got a problem
I was early enough for work this morning that I stopped to get coffee. When I came out of the store, there sat a beautiful flashy brindle girl and her brother a pug. I just had to wait for their person to come out of the market (well, I suppose I could have asked for their person to be paged :rolleyes
As each shopper came out, the boxer would stand up and wiggle her nub. When her person came out, beans every which way. the pug basically sat until his person appeared, the he stood and wagged too. They are both 9 and have been together forever. Just had to share. My problem is that I ended up being late for work. How do I tell my boss that it was "boxer fever"?

Simple. Tell your boss that your "symptoms" were easily Googled directing you to diagnose yourself with idiopathic Boxer Fever. Origin of condition is unknown but seems to be affecting quite a few Boxer lovers. May or may not be contagious. Usually a life long condition that "sufferers" experience at random times and have no control over. As of yet there is no "cure" but specialists recommend giving into the fever to help further combat additional symptoms.

But even so.... even non-boxer owners sometimes bend over backwards to talk to you and comment on the boxer. They just have a charm about them that's like no other!!!!!!! I'm convinced.
I walked Tasha this afternoon, and an older gentleman a few streets over asked if he could pet Tash... and proceeded to fill me in on everyone he knew that owned a boxer (and, of course, that they were so silly in this way and that). Funny how each one left an imprint with him that he will not forget!!!!
