Capser has loose stools quite often mostly in the early evening and we have no idea why.
He is fed 3 times a day still and has the same food for all 3 meals so we have no idea why. When he is loose it is nearly always early evening, at first I thought it might be over feeding but he doesn't even eat the amount recommended for his age on the bag.
Do you think he'd be better on 2 meals a day now, wouold it make a difference? In weeks he's 6 months old today (24 wks)

I've noticed the same type of thing with Mya. I've been trying to pay closer attention, and I've noticed that the more excited she is the looser her stools are. It sounds odd, but when we have a BIG play after dinner her stool is a lot softer than any other time of the day...

Are the loose stools coming after he plays or goes for a walk? Exercise seems to cause loose stools. Rolen always has a loose poop after we've gone on a long walk.

No not necessarily after a long play etc. I reckon my mum is giving him too many treats during the day so he's over fed hence loose. She says she's not but I'm getting through treats like no ones business :(

winnie

Boxer Buddy
winnie has had "loose stools" on and off for about a year. we had to change vets about 8 months ago as i discovered she wasn't getting the best care.

about 2 weeks ago, her 'loose stools' became "turn on the garden hose diarrhea" -- she still ate the same (which was never really quite 'right') and drank lots, but her gas.. *whew* worse than usual (which is still pretty bad!) - it was horrible!

took her to her new vet, who though she might have an intestinal infection, but took some blood to run some other tests.

turns out its pancreatitus (which shocked me because she's on good 'lower fat' food, and gets tons of exercise) - apparently boxers (especially 'middle aged' (winnie is 5 now)) are susceptable.

i feel HORRIBLE that i let it go for as long as i did before getting it completely checked out. winnie has been at the animal hospital since thursday and they want to keep her a bit longer -- i miss her terribly! i feel like a horrible mum!

Poor Winnie, how is she today? Don't feel so bad, you have done the right thing by getting her the medical attention she needs (((Hugs))) and healing ((((Vibes)))) coming your way

Tracey, how is Casper? Did you have a word with your mum about the treats? I was wondering if he's had any bones recently - too much makes Biff's stools loose. If it's a marrow bone, we try and scrape a lot of the marrow out first.

He's been ok and I've had a word with mum, she says she doesn't give them many but I know how often I have to replace them so nonoicon nanna.
