Greenie are off-limits for Max
Max loves chewing on a Greenie. When he has one of those things nothing else in the world matters...LOL!!! However, about 3 weeks ago he wouldn't eat his morning meal but he did drink a lot of water. After about 20 minutes he started gagging and up came a big chunk of greenie. I noticed he'd completely devoured the greenie the night before but didn't think anything about it. I didn't give him any greenies for a few days. I started giving him greenies again but being very careful about removing them when he'd chewed most of it. Well, this weekend while I was watching him he swallowed an even bigger piece. I was hoping he'd barf up this one too but it never happened. He was behaving normally so I thought he was OK. Yesterday at lunch he was very lethargic...not his usually bouncy self. I called my vet and told her what happened. She said to watch him for continued lethargy, diarrhea, etc. He was feeling much better last night...running around, playing, bouncing, no abnormal potties, etc. I thought everything was back to normal. But at 6am this morning I heard him gag in the other room. I ran in there and laying in the middle of the floor was another 1x1 chunk of undigested greenie from approximately 36 hours before. At this point those things are off limits. I wouldn't recommend them even though Max seems to love them. At least things worked out for me but I've read several posts on various internet sights where others weren't as lucky.
