Lily's new stifle brace.

Lily's got a bum knee. Based on what the vets have told us, she has a torn cruciate ligament.
After carefully considering surgeries we decided to get a leg brace for her first.
Here's her brace. It seems well made and a comfortable fit for her.
See she's already putting weight on her bad leg on the second day.

You're making her blush!
So far so good. I just hope she continues to show improvement and regains some stability in her knee.
There are many good testimonials at the websites of the various brace makers.

Do you take it off of her at night? I am really curious about all of this. It looks like it is well made and something that would definitely help her.

Yes we take it off at night.
To reduce the chance of aggravating her injury during the night we limit her movement with baby gates so she can't run downstairs, through the doggie doors and chase moose in the yard.
Which she would do if she had to drag both back her legs.

I went to their site and did some reading from the testimonials and others things about the brace. I really look forward to hearing more updates from you on how it does for your baby girl.

The brace looks great. It will certainly be interesting to hear how well she does with it.

Wow, that is cool. Was there an adjustment period, or did she take to it right away? Good luck!
Within 5-10 minutes she was putting weight on her bum leg. After two full days she is still moving slow, but she is moving. I'm sure she still has pain there. Sometimes during the day she comes to me. I take the chance to check her fitment and rub where it contacts her leg.In the evening she comes to me and hangs around as if to say she's ready to take the brace off.
This evening with the brace off she shows some improved mobility. Lets hope that continues.
