Tyson will be two in February and he still squats/stretches. Doesn't bother me one bit. He has just recently started to lift his leg on walks. He doesn't do it inside or in the yard. He just does his business and the demands to come back in. :)

Our pooch, Sampson is way too lazy to pick up a leg and do his thing. It's so much easier to stop suddenly and go. On rare occasions, he makes a half-hearted attempt tp pick-up a leg.

Baxter is a true squatter - he puts his back feet together, and leans forward making him aim directly at the ground. I think it's great! His aim is so much better this way. :D

At 8.5 months old, my boy is still a squater. He doesn't have a certain stance while he's going, he'll just go when he has to go regardless of where his legs are. Haven't seen him get any on himself yet though. The best is when he's squatting and yawning at the same time. It's just so routine, but the way he makes it look. Very funny!!!

Rowdy is a lifter. Since he lifts his left leg 90% of the time and has a mean left hook, you might say that Rowdy is left footed.

Depends on Eric's mood. :)
It also depends on where he is at the time & how much he really needs to go. :p

Boy, poor Eric. Sometimes, he may not be able to hold it until he gets that leg hiked up in the air huh??

This is a hysterical thread!! My girl Bella Marie squats like a little lady, it is so precious. She even seems to get embarassed when I look at her. It's like she's saying, "Privacy, please."

Petey is so lazy he does the stretch thing, always missing what he is aiming at. I have also noticed that has to pee on any other dog's pee, even Bella's.smashicon smashicon smashicon smashicon

Two leg lifters here....Jack was a "stretcher" but at about ten months he started the "hike"! Goliath has always been a leg lifter since he has grown up but now sometimes he does cheat a little...his old legs sometimes get tired I think.

The discussion topics on here!

Scrapper didn't become a "lifter" until he was almost 1 and 1/2 years old. Now, sometimes he will lift, especially on walks when he seems to lift so far back that he almost loses his balance  (I think Boxer spines must be extra-flexible). Sometimes he just puts his two front feet off the deck down into the bark and lets 'er rip. Other times, he does the stretch and starts to go but then wanders about the yard, casually piddling as he goes in a Jackson Pollack-like design.
