I was wondering if anyone here knew if Lhasa Apso's were good with children? (ages 4 and 6). Thank You.

According to Dog Fancy (June 2000) Lhasa Apsos are probably not the best breed with kids. They quoted someone who said; "I would personally advise anyone with a child who isn't very sensitive, caring, and aware of how to treat animals to expect to have the child bitten. . . ." She goes on to say they had a 2 year old at the time they got their dog and it worked out. I think the idea is they can be nippy if poked or prodded so it's important that the chldren have respect for the dog and treat it properly.

Another small dog that would be better with children is the Bichon Frise. Also, I think that Boston Terriers can be good with kids.(anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong).

A thing to remember with both the Lhasa and the Bichon is that they require a lot of grooming.

I hope this helps! :)

My grandmother had a Lhasa apso that bit everyone! I can't say that this stands for the entire breed but Frisca was one mean little dog :D
