Thank you, I really appreciate the comments. You are right, I have noticed a trend...it seems that when my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night Jaz hears us, and wakes up herself in addition to what she normally wakes up. Thankfully my husband gets up very early, and the midnight waking is not too bad. We have been sleep deprived in the past, and I am sure it will happen again in the future.

Thank goodness Rocky can go all night...but I shut the toilet seats and put up his water around 11 pm... that way he can't get a drink. It seems to work.

Jack would let me sleep 8 hours straight through the night by 10 weeks old. I am up 2-3 times a night (sometimes more) .. so I would take him out every few hours when I would get up to go, it only seemed fair I often wonder if I weren't getting up on my own and had waited for Jack to let me know instead, if he wouldn't have slept all through the night even sooner. The only reason I found out was one night I was sick and, forgive me all :o ,I just wanted to crawl back in bed after my pit stop. Since he didn't whine or cry when I got back in bed, even though I still felt guilty, I figured he'd be ok. Heck, now I don't even think he stops snoring when I get up . I've even hit the computer in the middle of the night and he doesn't bat an eyelash. I worried that maybe he just wasn't letting me know he had to go out, but he has woken me up an hour or so early a few mornings, whining to go out, so I know he knows to get me up if he needs to. I count my blessings with this, he's an But believe me the scorecard evens out when he's awake -- oh what a my little one can be

Our Grunt has slept through the night since he was 9 weeks old. I am so proud and grateful . We live in a condominium developement and do not have a yard of our own, but lots of grassy spots close to the entrance of our building. So, we can't just let Grunt out. Wish we had a yard, but have made adjustments which work for Grunt and us. He is ready for bed at around 8PM, so we take him out around 7:30 after having put his water dish up at a little after 7:00. He sleeps until 5Am. That is when our day begins. It continues to amaze me that he can hold it that long! When he is up for the day though, we make numerous trips outside. But that's OK. I'm glad he lets us know he has to go, and also, I think he likes to be outside as much as possible!!

Tucker just recently started getting up once a night. I too think it has to do with how late he drinks water. Honestly, as long as he does his business OUTSIDE, and goes back to sleep, I am happy.:D

Roxy and I are on an odd schedule since I go to work from 230 pm to 1030 pm. There were a few months where she was regularly getting me up at 730 in the morning to go out (which for me kind of is the middle of the night!) but now she's settled into the routine quite nicely. She hasn't woken me up to go outside in months and, in fact, I'm usually the one that has to drag her out of bed! If, for some reason, I do have to get up early, she just lays on the bed until the very last possible minute when I drag her outside to pee! :p

Ginger goes out at 10pm - 11pm and she is fine till the morning. Also I feed her dinner at 5pm. She only went out in the middle of then night when she was a pup.

Duke can hold it through the night but sometimes when he needs to go badly he goes to my side of the bed and put's one paw on the bed and gently taps it. If I don't wake up he taps the bed again but harder until I wake up. If it is a super super emergency he would tap the bed with his paw very hard and shake his head so i can hear those floppy ears.

In the mornings when he wakes up he does the same thing.

I think Heidi has a bladder of steel..she would much rather sleep in, in the mornings than go pee outside in the cold. She's gone to sleep at 11pm and slept thru til 10 am..I've often wondered how she can go so long too but I am grateful, anyway.

Thank you Tom! As my husband was an offender of this ( he got me a puppy for my B-day then got aggravated about how much work went into it) I had to sit him down and have a long talk with him also. I am going to print what Tom said and give it to my HB so that he can see that I am not the "over-protective" and "over-indulgent" mom he thinks I am. He had never had a puppy as his parents always adopted older dogs when he was a child. They are ALOT of work but give ALOT back. Jazmyn, I am elated to see that you love your pup so much! Our new pup wakes us up 2-4 times a night and I too am cranky based upon sleep loss!!!! I think all dogs are different as are people so you just have to tough it out!!!!! (I am right there with ya!) I have started setting the alarm so that she can at least be on a schedule. So far we've been able to eliminate one "awakening"
