Do any of you have to get up to let your boxer(s) out at night to go potty? My Missy gets up around 3 or 4 and whines at the back door till I get up (I hear it right away since our bedroom is right next to the back door). She does her business then quickly runs back in and hops back on the couch to go back to sleep. My other girl just sleeps through...doesn't need to go for 10 hours or so. Missy barely makes it 5 or 6 hours...and they're the same age. I don't mind getting up, better than cleaning the carpet every morning. Anyone else's boxers have a small blatter?

I get up and let my two out if they have to go, but usually they make it through the night. The times they have to go out in the middle of the night are the nights they wouldn't go out to potty right before bedtime!smashicon (and we all know how hard it is to move a boxer that doesn't want to be moved!)

It depends on how late I give them water. Last night I didn't get woke up at all. The night before I did. It's a pain sometimes but it's our fault too. Like you said though, I'd rather have them wake me then clean it up.

Austin gets me up almost every night to go out. I can get kind of annoying because I know he can hold it. If it's raining he'll hold it for hours on end. Sometimes I think he wakes up and is just bored and wants to wake me up! He goes out, runs to the back door, (so I know he pooped!) and flies back on the couch. It's like having a newborn in the house!

Billy started waking us at about 2 or 3 to go to the loo even though he'd been out at 10pm.

So we moved his dinner time from 6pm to 5pm and that early hours loo time has stopped.

dh gets up at 4:30 to go to work, and he usually let them out then. Occasionally someone will get an urge to go during the night and I'll get up and let them out. On the weekends they usually wait until we decide to get up to go out.

Ava will routinely go out in the middle of the night, but it is my actions that cause it. I normally get up once and occasionally twice during the night to visit the bathroom.

Sleeping through the night has been a thing of the past for several years now. It is a normal occurrence in men my age. What I find ironic is that during the day, my wife visits the bathroom at least two to one compared to me. She remains in bed through the night, while I don't.

So, when I make one of my nocturnal jaunts to the bathroom, Ava will wake up and go to the door. But, on the rare nights when I don't get up, or she is sleeping with our daughter, she goes through the night without a problem.

Apparently in a case of the shoe being on the other foot, it is I who disturb her sleep.
