Thanks Cindy. We even had some changes today. He cried in the middle of the night to go out. He has been virtually silent since August, so that was a biggie--even if I slept through it! Also, he was a wild man when I got home from work today. He did his contortion bit on the couch and gave me a huge love attack. Please keep the prayers coming because they seem to be working!

Thanks guys! We had a really good night. With exception of the knuckling paws, Mugsy was more himself than he's been in months. He tried to eat more than one daddy long legs, he enjoyed a chewie and figured out how to get his legs to grasp it, and he took interest in a frisbee! Oh how I hope these are signs that things will be all better soon!cool2icon

Mugsy went back to the vet today--his new regular vet, that is. He wet our bed again Friday night and I really needed to check into that. It seems that the occasional incontinence is most likely another joyous effect of his neurological condition. The vet also noted that his pupils are not equal, either. The doctor still advised against any drug intervention since we have been seeing those wonderful, small changes every week or so. I honestly have no idea how long his eyes may have been affected since August, when he had the original neurological exam. I bought him some "sneakers" on-line and they are too small. That really bummed me out. I was hoping that they would make this great difference for him, but now I have to send them back (wait some more) and get bigger ones. The best news is that our vet confirmed that there is still hope for a full recovery...someday. As long as we can dare to hope, I can deal. As for the Mugs himself, he's still gobbling liverwurst and listening intently to my silly songs!

I'm sorry if I missed this (I have been intently lurking and rooting for Mugsy's recovery) but what are the sneakers for?

Mariah, don't be sorry! I honestly cannot keep track of who I tell what anymore! The sneakers, or booties, will cover his paws and wrists so he won't hurt the tops of his paws when he "knuckle walks". The ones I ordered have major rubber tread that I was hoping would provide some traction on our wood and tile floors. I was also hopeful that they may provide support to his weak legs, as well. Anyhow, I'll let you know if all that happens when I get the right size!

Allison:)
