I join the others in expressing my joy that Owen is doing so well.

Did they come up with a definitive diagnosis for his problem, or are they still feeling it was an issue with some toxic substance?

Whatever the cause, the important thing is that Owen is doing so fantastically well. Indy, Ava and I continue to send our best to Owen that he has a complete recovery from his malady.

We still don't know EXACTLY what the cause was, and we may never know :( I find that the most frusterating Once we start to wean him off the steroids we will get a better idea. If we wean him off and he has no problems then it was most likely a toxin or diet related. If we aren't able to ever wean him off 100% then it's a immune system disorder where his body is attacking his red blood cells for no reason.

We will start to wean Owen off the steroids once his red blood cell count levles off. Right now it continues to rise!

We will test his blood again in two weeks and see where we are.

Thank you ALL for you support, suggestions, and ears during these times. It really had been wonderful to know that I have friends like you all.

Yikes - I can't believe I missed this thread until now...good thing, I would have been very sad for Owen! How wonderful that he's doing so well now.

Hi Kysha! This is the first time in a looooong time since I've been able to get to Boxerworld (busy with the baby) and I new Owen was not feeling well but wow....the poor guy and poor you! What a rough summer you had, I'm sooo happy to hear that Owen is on the mend and I hope to see you both someday soon at the field. all the best to you and Owen!! Denise
