Thanks Denise. Owen had been going to the field for the past two weeks and he has enjoyed every minute of it!!! I hope that we can see you guys out there too - Owen needs a really good run! Now that he is feeling better he is becoming quite a bug at home.

Hope all is well with the baby!

Thanks again everyone for your support. I really appreciate it. Whenever Owen is having a bad day I come a read all the encouraging words and it helps me through the day.

Still improving

Owen never stops amazing me. We just got back fromthe vet and his red blood cell count is now at 49!!! I thought for sure by now he would have leveled off, but he is still going up.

We will go in again in another two weeks to see if we have leveled off.

I want him to level off soon so that we can get him off the steroids, but at the same time I still want him to go up so that he is the best he can be!

It's all a waiting game!

Thanks again to everyone.

I must admit, that the e-mail notification about this thread produces some anxiety. I look forward to the updates, but any thread dealing with health issues is cause for concern.

I am so glad to hear that Owen is doing so well, and Indy and Ava continue to send their sibling vibes for Owen. It is always heartening to get good reports about our babies' brethren.

Keep 'em coming. Way to go Owen.

Kysha,

That is indeed great news. Five, Tyson and I will continue to funnel our support for that beautiful boy and his continued improvement.

Well, yesterday Owen took a SLIGHT turn downwards... His blood count went down from 49 (two weeks ago) to 47 yesterday. The vet isn't too worried about it, but we are to go next week (Monday) and see if he has gone back up or if he goes down again.

I am trying not to get myself upset yet, until we have more conrete information. Ther is allowence for sligh fluctuations in the blood count, but I just hope that'a all that it is.

I will be on pins and needles until Monday.

As soon as I have word from the vet I will let you all know.

Thanks again for everyone's support.

Take a deep breath, relax, and try not to worry. It sounds as though your vet is being very thorough. Blood counts have a range, and it is not uncommon for slight fluctuations in the various counts.

They can be affected by several factors, stress, diet, allergy, seasonal changes, etc. Since it didn't take a nosedive, Indy, Ava and I will consider it to be a normal thing. They will continue to send their Boxer vibes for Owen.

Has Owen gone off the meds yet?

Still hanging in with you.

Kysha,

Fingers and paws crossed here too. I am sure it's just a slight fall and that he will be back up on Monday.
